Tervetuloa kokemaan musiikillinen tulkinta Arne Garborgin Haugtussan (1895) mystisistä, utuisista maisemista. Norjalainen eeppinen runoelma kertoo Veslemøyn eli Haugtussan (”Vuorineidon”) tarinan; tarinan nuoresta tytöstä, jota vainoavat näyt ja kyläläisten puheet, ja joka taistelee omia sisäisiä haasteitaan sekä luonnonvoimia ja luonnonolentoja vastaan.

Konsertti petoksen, ahdingon, rakkauden ja rohkeuden värittämän tarinan, joka on saanut inspiraationsa norjalaisesta kansanperinteestä ja luonnon mystiikasta.

Vokal Vivo on naiskuoro Oslosta, Norjasta. Kuoro on perustettu vuonna 2016 ja sitä johtaa Marianne Husby Berg.
Åshild Bergill Hagen (laulu) on norjalainen laulaja-lauluntekijä. Sooloprojektissaan Bergill hän soittaa jazzista inspiroitunutta ja tunteista ammentavaa folk-pop-musiikkia.
Tina Lægreid Olsen (baritonisaksofoni) on norjalainen jazz-saksofonisti ja säveltäjä.

A choir concert by Vokal Vivo
With singer Åshild Bergill Hagen and baritone saxophonist Tina Lægreid Olsen

You are invited to experience a musical rendition of the mystical, misty landscapes of Arne Garborg’s Haugtussa (1895). The Norwegian epic circle of poems tells the story of Veslemøy, or Haugtussa (‘The Hill Maid’), a young girl haunted by visions and by the talk of the village people, fighting against her own demons and the forces of nature and its creatures. This concert gives you a story of betrayal, distress, love and courage, inspired by Norwegian folklore and the mysticism of nature.

Vokal Vivo will perform songs by Ketil Bjørnstad, made into choir arrangements by Ingunn Solem. Singer Åshild Bergill Hagen and saxophonist Tina Lægreid Olsen also give their own interpretations of Bjørnstad’s pieces. A narrator connects the musical pieces together and brings the story of Haugtussa to life.

Vokal Vivo is a women’s choir from Oslo, Norway. The choir was established in 2016 and is conducted by Marianne Husby Berg. Through concerts and recordings they offer a unique sound, captivating storytelling and genuine musical presence.

Åshild Bergill Hagen (vocals) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter. With her solo project Bergill she plays folk pop music inspired by jazz and driven by emotion.

Tina Lægreid Olsen (baritone saxophone) is a Norwegian jazz saxophonist and composer, part of Oslo jazzensemble and other bands.
